One day I was rid
ing along,
riding on my old mule
I was minding my own business,
wasn't bothering the soul
I see the little red hen and a rooster
The little red hen said to the rooster, said,
look, bub, I ain't gonna
take this settin' down
I'm settin' you hatchin'
off black and brown
And you out catfishin' all over
town
So I sped my mule,
I went ridin' on down the road
Mindin' my own business,
wasn't botherin' the soul
So I saw a black cat and a yellow cat
So the black cat said to the yellow cat,
said,
Look, bub, say,
let's go across town and clown
Yellow cat says, yes,
we'll go across town
But look, bub, say,
you better set your little black self down
So I spurred my mule and I went ridin'
on down the road
Mindin' my own business,
wasn't botherin' no soul
So I met a good -lookin' girl,
I said, look lady, I said, you married?
She says, no, bub, and never been kissed
I said, I've got a twenty dollar bill and
a
Cadillac car and I know a cute little place
right over the hill she said heck
with your car bub said but keep talking about that
hill and them 20 bills
So I spud my mule and I rode on up in town
So I see the man standing
at the window
He was pulling off his clothes
And every time he'd pull off a piece
she'd throw it out the window.
So I said, hey, bub, I said, what goes?
She said, look, bub, she says,
if you had paid what I paid for this room,
she says, when I come down outta here,
see, them clothes will be
out of style.
