You don't
have to move that mountain
Just to help me, to climb it
You don't have to move
that stumbling block,
just show me the way around it.
You must climb a great high mountain
to greet your God's
gracious kingdom.
In His words you'll find the strength
if you will just believe them.
You don't have to move that mountain
Just to help me
Lord, help me, help me
You don't have to move
that stumbling block
Just show me the way around it
Now the way is filled with pitfalls
and sometimes we may falter
But you can't have this place
my friend on your knees
down at the altar
You don't have
to move that mountain
Just to help me, Lord, to climb
You don't have to move
that stumbling block
Just to show me the way around it
Now you don't have
to move that mountain,
just help me to climb,
you don't have to move that
one hand over another,
one hand over an other,
one hand over another
oh now you don't have to
move that mountain
just to help me
Lord to climb it alive
you don't have to move
that stumbling block
just show me the way
around it
I'm going to do a song here
that I wrote about a guitar,
a hummingbird guitar,
it's a guitar of my dad's
and in fact it was not a hummingbird,
I took a little poetic license here,
it was a cheaper version,
the hummingbird was the coupe de ville
and my dad had the vega,
if you will,
but he wanted it to be a hummingbird
and one time even spray painted
a hummingbird on it
and I think that's why we knew we could do what we did to the
guitar which I talk about in this song called a hummingbird.
