    I wanted to get

    that I'd recorded 

    and old 
    ones and new ones. 

    The only time

    was stuck 

    was for a piece 
    of material, 

    a 
    kind of a 
    story song. 

    Then a friend 
    of mine 

    gave me a book of 
    Cole Porter lyrics 

    an
    d I was reading 
    it one night 

    and 
    I ran across 
    this 
    song 

    that I knew 
    very well 
    at 

    least the first chorus 
    of it. 

    I didn't know 
    that he had written three 

    oth
    er choruses. 

    It 
    was 
    done in 1934 

    for 
    Eth
    el Merman and 
    Bob Hope, 


    a show called 
    Red 
    Hot and Blue 

    and 
    it's so funny 
    how 
    those lyrics 

    written 
    that 
    long 
    ago 

    kind 
    of applied to 
    my life 

    for the last couple 
    or three 
    years.
